ChildTime Founders

George and Joan have been in the “people business” most of their lives. Joan's professional career began as an elementary school teacher in Hempfield School District and George as a counselor and community developer for the Department of Corrections in Western Pennsylvania. George was transferred to the Department's Central Office in Camp Hill to be the Chief of Inmate Activities throughout the institutions in Pennsylvania, and Joan with their three daughters followed. That began Joan's new career in administration. First with the American Red Cross and then with The American Cancer Society. They both moved to their next level as George took a position in sales and Joan to beginning ChildTime. Together they built their world into an entrepreneurial experience, Joan with the ChildTime program and George with the finances and site construction. The ChildTime business grew to over 400 families and three locations. They sold the preschool sites. Joan started another business and George took ownership of the School Age program. Their objective in all has been “mutual respect” for each other, for those families for which they provide service, and especially for the children they serve, and in turn, they trust that mutual respect will flow back toward them. So far it has served them well and they look forward to the future with enthusiasm.

Marie Habib
Executive Director

Marie Habib earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, cum laude, from Shippensburg University in 2003. Marie began her career at ChildTime SAC as a Lead Teacher and in 2005 was named Executive Director. Prior to ChildTime, Marie taught 5th grade at Hamilton Elementary School and performed juvenile community-based services with Cornell Abraxas. During her free time, Marie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, shopping, traveling, and learning how to cook. Future plans include more travel, taking horseback riding lessons, and returning to SHIP to complete her Masters in Leadership and Organizational Studies.

Janet Wolfe
Head of Finance

Jan has been with ChildTime since its inception. Jan is responsible for all issues dealing with billing. In her free time, Jan enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and reading.
